ACT Professional Development Day - Learning Technologies for AALL

The University of Canberra and the Australian National University are hosting a professional development day around the theme of ‘Learning Technologies for ALL’ to be held on the 26th of August 2011 in the University of Canberra’s new Teaching Commons (Building 1, Level C).

The day will be divided into two sessions:

Session one will engage all attendees in an interactive exploration of learning technologies for use in individual consultations. Participants will investigate the limitations and the possibilities of Skype, email, and telephone consultations in comparison to more traditional face to face modes.

For the second session we are calling for 15 minute case-study presentations of ALL advisers’ experiences of using various learning technologies in their practice. Presentations should adhere to the following format:

1. What was the technology?
2. What did you use it for?
3. Why did you use it?
4. What was the outcome?
5. What lessons can other ALL practitioners take away from your experience?

To register to attend the event please email Rowena Harper, and indicate any dietary requirements:

To propose a presentation please include a summary of approximately 100 words, along with a title for the presentation, when you register. All proposals should be in by July 15.
