University strategic/operational plan
If you have evaluated this practice, please select evaluation type(s):
Creating the youtube clip with all staff involved in the partnership, demonstrated the value of collaboration.
What are the strengths of this practice?:

It can be difficult to gain traction and opportunities to participate in curriculum review and renewal and to demonstrate the expertise and value that our profession can make to student skill development and engagement. Often we are called on to 'help' in a 'triage' fashion rather than to be at the design phase of the curriculum review. This youtube clip demonstrated what we do and is validated by the academic peers involved. This youtube has been shared across the university with both colleagues and senior staff and has been instrumental demonstrating our niche expertise and has increased the profile for collaboration in teaching and learning.

What are the weaknesses?:

The expertise to assist with the technology and editing and a commitment of all to spend the time to tape the clip.

What improvements (if any) would you like to make?:

Tighter script and shorter clip.

What approaches/theories of language and/or learning underpin this practice?:

Ensuring that the clip can add value for both learning skills advisers and librarians to see how they can approach conversations for collaboration, the academic staff for our value add expertise and for students to access the services available.
